While I'd encourage others to break away from EGS for their myriad business practices and concerns (ie bringing by-contract exclusivity to PC titles is enough to damn them, but also things like failing to support Linux not just for their client but also for games that offer a Linux version on Steam, when purchased on Epic, do not grant such access - Slime Rancher is a good example here), but if you must continue to have any interaction with them then I suggest using Legendary - an open source alternative to the EGS launcher. step two: in epic games launcher, go to the downloads tab, then configuration, and then click where it says limit download speed, a box will appear below in which we put 90 of the kb that we have assigned by the operator Example: 10MB: 10000kb 90 of 10000k 9000kb so we put 9000. So the fact its using so many resources and harvesting so much data is even more striking, given it officially does little more for the gamer than updating certain titles. what is it actually doing to benefit the user? EGS has fewer features on its launcher than even the ho-hum first party launchers out there like Origin or UPlay/UbiConnect, much less something like Steam which offers incomparable features, community, and general usage/openness vs any major competing platform.
